Simple installation and smart control

  • The smoke detector does not connect to the hub, what should I do?

First, connect the hub to the router and wait for it to come online. Then, pair the smoke detector. If possible, place the hub in the center and avoid too much distance between the hub and the detector.

  • How do I check if the smoke detector is working correctly?

Press the TEST button on the device. Do not test the detector with cigarettes, candles, or steam, as this may not trigger the alarm depending on the environment. A self-test is performed regularly.

  • Why does the hub sometimes say "Everything is normal" when a device is offline?

The hub checks the smoke detectors approximately every 10 minutes. An error is detected and a notification is sent only after three consecutive connection failures. Brief interruptions are not reported immediately.

  • Why does the system require a hub?

The hub is the central unit of the system. It ensures a stable and reliable connection between the smoke detectors, the app, and home automation platforms.

  • Why do features vary between home automation platforms?

HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings support different functions. Displays, alerts, and automations may vary depending on the platform used.

  • Emergency orientation – Red evacuation LED: In the event of a fire alarm, the detector automatically activates a powerful red evacuation LED light. This improves orientation in dense smoke or during power outages, and helps to identify escape routes more quickly. Ideal for bedrooms, hallways, and children's rooms. The smoke detector complies with standard EN14604.
  • Accurate smoke detection – fewer false alarms: Thanks to innovative dual optical sensor technology (patent pending), the Meross smoke detector offers much greater precision than traditional single-sensor systems. Say goodbye to annoying false alarms while cooking: when you cook, the detector remains silent and only triggers when a real danger is detected. A 0.8 mm insect screen permanently protects the sensor from dust and insects.
  • Interconnected alarm throughout the house – even without internet: When one smoke detector detects smoke, all connected detectors simultaneously trigger an alarm, even if Wi-Fi or the router is down. With an 85 dB audible signal on the detector and 110 dB on the central hub, even large apartments are effectively alerted. The Meross app immediately notifies all authorized family members and precisely indicates the triggered detector to quickly locate the source of the fire.
  • Matter compatibility – more than a smoke detector: Via the Meross MSH450 Hub, the smoke detector seamlessly integrates with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant. Create smart automations, for example, automatic light activation to improve orientation or appliance shutdown via a Meross smart plug to reduce the risk of secondary fires.
  • 10 years of safety – self-test via app: The smoke detector uses replaceable AA batteries and allows self-tests via the app. It is recommended to use the self-test function via the app and not to use cigarettes, candles, or steam, as these methods do not always trigger a reliable alarm. Battery status, errors, and alarms can be checked at any time. The app records up to 10 years of event history with the possibility of alarm tagging. Flexible installation by screws, 3M adhesive, or magnetic bracket.
  • Hub connection – system stability: For more reliable communication, it is recommended to connect the Hub via a LAN cable to the router. Also ensure proper positioning, as too much distance can affect the connection. If using Wi-Fi, only the 2.4 GHz band is supported.
